Playing at the provincial level is a first-time experience for Adam Scott Collegiate’s Cody MacLeod.

His plan is to make the most of it.

The 17-year-old, who turns 18 on Aug. 30, is heading to the Canada Summer Games in Summerside, P.E.I. beginning tomorrow as a member of Ontario’s under-18 men’s rugby team.

Truro blind golfer Brian MacLeod continued his stellar summer with a win at the Nova Scotia Open at River Oaks Golf Club. MacLeod defended his B1 (no sight) division title with a two-round total of 218.

The 20-year-old, who has endured a difficult summer after his bowling action was deemed to be illegal, savoured the other side of the sport when he came on as 12th man for England and received the cheers of the Barmy Army after pulling off some good pieces of fielding in the covers.

Calum, 20, of Stepps, Glasgow, was called on as emergency fielder in the Ashes clash with Australia at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
