WARREN MACLEOD won’t be surprised if he takes longer than usual to get through airport security on his trip to Scotland. After all, it’s not every day someone’s carry-on luggage includes the spirit of kindness.

That’s what MacLeod hopes his creation, the Sconestone, will become known as, though it had a more humble origin as a Valentine’s Day present for his wife, Kari.

“I told her, ‘This is an odd gift. You’re going to have it for a short while, then we’re going to send it on, but it’s in your honour,’” the Windsor man said.

Marin gets voice on television as new chief of revamped center invites public, nonprofits to produce more local programming – Marin Independent Journal

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

John Macleod, coordinator of the center’s Intel Computer Clubhouse, sits on the MTC’s advisory board. In late 2008, when Eisenmenger moved to Marin from New York City, where he directed a Free Speech TV show called “Grit TV,” Macleod gave up his office for the newcomer. Now the two have hatched a plan whereby the MYC will set up a live broadcast facility so it can air live events held at the center.

Macleod said the move benefits everyone involved, providing additional programming for the public-access channels and giving kids invaluable experience. “They get trained on state of the art audio and video production equipment, and they get to give back to the community with the programming,” he said.
