That includes e-mails and phone calls between Kilrea and O’Brien, evidence from Nepean Carleton MPP Lisa MacLeod and Conservative aide John Light, and even O’Brien’s own statement to police, which Hutchison argues corroborates much of Kilrea’s story.
Perhaps most problematic, from the defence’s perspective, was MacLeod’s testimony that O’Brien told her, at a meeting on July 31, 2006, that “we’re talking to Terry about an appointment” and specifically mentioned the parole board.
